We lost our beloved mother, Rosita Floro Lorenzana, on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at the age of 84. She was surrounded by her loved ones. Although nothing can fill the void she left behind, we are comforted knowing she is now at peace together with her cherished husband, Al and her favorite son, Sidney.
Rosy is survived by daughter, Lelu and her husband Joseph and daughter-in-law, Belen. She also left behind five wonderful grandchildren, Roma (Andrew), Elise (Kyle), Niki, Kevin and Allen (Jhev), great-grandsons, Jordan and Connor and treasured sisters, Lydia and Olivia.
A devout Christian, Rosy epitomized kindness, empathy, compassion and love for others. A woman with a big heart, she was always ready to help others, be it through charitable institutions, or by simply lending a sympathetic ear.
Rosy graduated from the College of the Holy Spirit where she earned a Bachelor’s in Chemistry. She taught briefly at the same college, but found her true passion when she joined San Miguel Brewery. She worked her way up to becoming the Quality Control Supervisor and earned accolades and the respect of her peers.
She and her husband, Al, loved to travel. They went on cruises, tours and pilgrimages prior to his death. This did not deter Rosy as she continued her love of seeing the world with Lelu as her trusty companion. Her last trip to Brazil, Argentina and Chile fulfilled her wish to see Christ the Redeemer statue.
She exemplified courage and strength when she lost Sidney. Although this devastated her more than anything, she knew that she would continue to live her life on her own terms. In the days leading to her death, she often called on Jesus and Mother Mary for help and guidance. True to her unwavering belief, she offered herself to the Lord, saying, ‘His will be done’.
