Rosetta Benton, 77, born on June 13, 1936 departed her earthly home to be with the Lord on Tuesday December 10, 2013. She was the first of 11 children born to Albert and Rosa Lee Whitman in Birmingham, Alabama. Rosetta graduated from High School in 1952 at the age of 16 and later in 1954, she moved to California with her parents and 10 siblings. She met, fell in love, and married William Benton in 1958, and to this union she was blessed with three boys - Darrell Benton, Kenneth Benton, and William (Billy) Benton, Jr. Rosetta was baptized in Birmingham at an early age. She joined and worshiped at Grace Covenant in Compton California for many years, until she moved to Victorville, CA. After the long drive became a physical hardship, Rosetta continued to worship at a local church which is now under the ministry of Pastor Charles Patrick. She continued to serve the Lord from her sick bed in Victorville until she was called home.

Preceding Rosetta in death, her father, Albert Whitman. She leaves to mourn, her mother, Rosa Lee Whitman, husband, William Benton, Sr., three sons - Darrell Benton, (wife Laurel) Kenneth Benton, and William (Billy) Benton, Jr. Grandchildren: Phillip William Benton, Darrell Benton, Jr, Timothy W Benton, Kenneth Benton, Jr, Jason Benton, Destiny Benton, Jayvion Benton, and Nakiyah Benton. Great Grandchildren: Khalil Benton, Kayton Benton, Jenice Benton, and Camilla Benton. Brothers: Albert Jr., (wife Elizabeth) Richard, (wife Shirley) Christopher,(wife Renee) Randolph, (wife Kate) and William Whitman all of California. Sisters: Annie Bryant, Bonnie Sheppard, Gloria J. Harriel, and Brenda J. Wheeler, of California, and Alice Faye Whitman, of Florida; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Interments are under the direction of Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles, CA.
