Rosemary Carol Moore

Rosemary C. Moore, 83, was born in Cuyahoga Falls, OH to Melvin and Elizabeth Moore. Later the family moved to Galveston and Houston, TX, where she graduated from San Jacinto High School in 1952. After graduating from the University of Houston in 1955, she taught in the Houston Independent School District for five years. She moved to CA in 1961, where her teaching career continued with the Burbank Unified School District until retiring in 1993. She taught at Lincoln, Miller, McKinley, Stevenson, Roosevelt, Franklin Elementary Schools and Luther Middle School in the upper elementary grades, and as a math specialist. Her love of teaching and concern for students was always prevalent. She loved animals, especially horses and cats, and served as a docent at the Los Angeles Zoo during her retirement. As a very creative, artistic lady, she wrote stories and scripts for plays, painted, made jewelry, designed and constructed custom dollhouses, and journaled about her many travels, including trips to all continents. She researched and meticulously documented family genealogy during her European travels.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her brother, David (Joyce) Moore, and her nephews: David (Melinda) Moore and George (Sandra) Moore, and a host of friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 12:30 P.M. at Forest Lawn-Hollywood Hills. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association.
