Rosemarie Pirri (Restivo) passed away peacefully on June 26, 2025, in the Coachella Valley, where she had lived for more than five decades. She was 91 years old.
Born on March 23, 1934, in New York City, Rosemarie moved to California with her family in 1944. She went on to attend UCLA, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and subsequently obtained her teaching credential. In 1956, she married the love of her life, Robert Francis (Bob) Pirri and lived in Los Angeles and La Crescenta until moving to Palm Springs in 1968, where they built a life rooted in love, faith, and service.
Rosemarie began her professional life as a school teacher before having children and then returned to teaching later, spending meaningful years teaching 5th grade at St. Theresa School in Palm Springs. Rosemarie and Bob later owned and operated businesses together until Bob’s death in 1990. Rosemarie reinvented herself working for the Marriott Corporation and eventually concluded her career with Marriott Corporation before retiring..
Above all else, Rosemarie was devoted to her family and friends. She was a loving mother to her son, Angelo Pirri and daughter, Francene Pirri-Fisher. She is the proud grandmother to Courtney Gibson, Megan Fisher, and Sofia Pirri, and then became a cherished great-grandmother to Callahan and Cooper Gibson. She is also survived by her beloved siblings, Gloria Mundy (Restivo) and Charles Restivo, and was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Restivo. Rosemarie also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, all of whom brought her great joy.
Known for her vibrant spirit, generous heart, and unmistakable laugh, Rosemarie was the life of the party. Her warmth, wit, and kindness touched everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives she graced.
A memorial service will be held on July 10th at 11:00 am at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Palm Springs. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in her name to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Palm Desert**, AND celebrate Rosemarie’s memory by spending time with loved ones, sharing laughs, a glass of wine, and cherishing each moment—just as she did every day.
