Roseana Sasaninia

December 24, 1952 — May 30, 2023

Roseana Sasaninia, 70, born on December 24, 1952, in Davao City, Philippines, passed away May 30, 2023.

Roseana was born to Alfredo Navarro Confesor and Pureza Rous Guirnalda on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1952. She was the eldest of 5 siblings. At 14 years of age, her mother tragically passed away from cervical cancer, leaving her to care for her younger siblings along with her father. Her mother’s passing deeply affected her and inspired her to become a nurse. Roseana attended Brokenshire College School of Nursing where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 1974. Roseana worked as a Registered Nurse for 4 years before returning to college to earn her Bachelor of Science in Education degree at the University of Mindanao. During her studies, Roseana met the love of her life, Abdolreza Sasaninia, an Iranian Mechanical Engineering exchange student, on April 6, 1978 and married on December 22, 1978. After graduation, Roseana traveled with her husband to his home in Tehran, Iran where she fell in love with the culture, traditions, and people of Iran. Roseana learned to speak Farsi and her adaptability allowed her to easily serve as a cardiac operating room nurse in Sasan Hospital in Tehran. There, she had her first son, Payman, in 1982 and her first daughter, Pegah, in 1984.

In 1986, Roseana and her family immigrated to the United States and settled in Orange County, California to build their lives. In 1991, Roseana was blessed with twin sons, Bijan and Kayvan, before relocating to Victorville, CA to grow her family. She built a successful career as a highly respected operating room nurse in many hospitals including Western Medical Center, Loma Linda University, and Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. In her free time, she loved to play piano, sing, spend time with her family and donate to charity to help those in need. Roseana was courageous, compassionate, and always placed the needs of others before her own. Roseana was beloved by her family and leaves behind a husband, three sons, a daughter, and five grandchildren. Arrangements are under the care of Forest Lawn, Covina Hills, CA.

Roseana’s life and legacy are recounted in her autobiography “Memoirs of the Operating Room Nurse“ Available:https://a.co/d/4c11FKC
