Rose Torigian

October 24, 1936 — July 7, 2024

Rose Torigian, a beloved wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and sister, was born on October 24, 1936 to Asbador and Arshalus Simonian. She went to her rest peacefully on July 7, 2024, in Simi Valley, California. Rose was raised alongside her twin sister, Alice, and her older brother, Albert. She attended Roosevelt High School in Fresno and graduated in 1955. In 1960, with great courage, she left her family and moved to Los Angeles, California. A year later, her sister joined her, and they shared an apartment.

Shortly after, Rose met George through a mutual friend, and they began a long-distance relationship between Fresno and Los Angeles. Eventually, George moved to Los Angeles, and they were married on May 15, 1965. The couple was blessed with four daughters: Michelle, born a year after their marriage; Kimberly, born two years later; and twins Teresa and Lisa, born three years after that.

In her professional life, Rose dedicated herself to the insurance industry as a Data Entry Supervisor. She excelled not only in her role as an analyst but also in leading and supervising a dedicated and successful team. Her remarkable work ethic and leadership were defining traits of her career which she concluded with her retirement in 1999.

Rose was a devoted member of St. Peter’s Church, where she regularly attended services with her family and lived a life rooted in her Armenian heritage. She actively supported the church and was involved in the Fellowship of St. Peter. Some of her happiest memories were made attending church functions with her friends, reflecting her strong faith and sense of community.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Rose's true joy stemmed from her family and friends. She treasured every opportunity to celebrate festive holidays with elaborate decorations, delicious food, and thoughtful presents. The memories of joyful family gatherings will be forever etched in the minds of those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Known for her love of ceramics and doll collecting, Rose's hobbies reflected her creativity and attention to detail, proudly displayed throughout her home. Rose was also a fantastic cook, preserving all the cherished Armenian recipes and, in true Armenian fashion, always preparing an abundance of food for every occasion. Rose also enjoyed trips with George to Las Vegas and Laughlin, where she often found herself on a winning streak. Their travels took them to National Parks, Canada, the East Coast, and even on a cruise to Alaska. Yet, above all else, it was her deep love for her daughters that truly defined her. The boundless joy they brought into her life was immeasurable.

If you knew Rose, you knew her love for shopping and fashion, a pastime she eagerly shared with her daughters. She cherished spending quality time with them, whether it was special lunches or leisurely shopping trips. These moments together were filled with laughter and bonding, creating memories that her daughters will forever treasure.

Rose's warm and kind-hearted nature endeared her to many. She was known for her easy-going personality and selfless devotion to ensuring the happiness of those around her. Despite her petite stature, Rose's strength and resilience were unwavering, serving as a guiding light for many during challenging times.

Rose is survived by her loving husband, George Torigian; her daughters, Michelle Machado, Kim Davis, Teresa Torigian, and Lisa Ingoldsby; her sons-in-law, Steve Machado, Ken Ingoldsby, and Gregg Davis; her grandchildren, Brian Ingoldsby, Brandon Machado, Ashley Davis, and Carson Davis; brother-in-law Charles Torigian, and her nieces Stephanie Torigian and Victoria Torigian Donahue (David Donahue); her nephews Ernest Raft and Robert Raft, and relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Asbador Simonian and Arshalus Simonian, and her siblings, Albert Simonian and twin sister, Alice Raft, her sister-in-laws Sandra Torigian and Margaret Baderian.
