Manchester,NH: Rose Marie (Canto) Palmer, 84 of Manchester, and formerly of Derry and Methuen, died Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at the Elliott Hospital in Manchester.
Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Michaelangelo and Rose (Margherita) Canto, she attended Lawrence High School and was a member of the former Holy Rosary Parish. Mrs. Palmer retired from Walmart of Derry after being employed fifteen years as a cashier. She was also formerly employed at Digital Equipment Corporation for twenty years in the Salem and Contoocook New Hampshire plants. She also previously worked at Raytheon Corporation and Honeywell Corporation.
A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother she enjoyed traveling to visit her grandchildren and their families in Florida and California. She also enjoyed cooking, playing Bingo and "45" and was devoted to her dogs Mickey and Theo.
Predeceased by her husband Howard L. Palmer in 1996, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her four daughters, Sandra J. Palmer of Manchester, Corinne A. Bishop of Weare, New Hampshire, Cheryl A. Scarelli and her husband Anthony of Chester, New Hampshire, Lynne M. MacDonald and her husband Donald of Londonderry; two sisters Constance Platania of Port Saint Lucie, Florida and Cora Diodati and her husband William of Methuen, MA., a brother Salvatore "Sal" Canto of North Hampton, NH., ten grandchildren, Jarrod Randel of Hobie Sound, FL., Bradford Randel and his wife Salisha of Tampa, FL., Ashley Murphy and her husband Galvin of Windham, NH., Christopher Randel of Sarasota, FL., Brian Mailhot of Boston, MA., Anthony Scarelli and his wife Brandi of Merrimack, NH., Jillian Randel of Concord, NH., Alex Scarelli of Manchester, NH., Marissa MacDonald and Cameron MacDonald of Londonderry, NH., two great grandchildren, Connor Murphy and Grace Rose Murphy and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Life Celebration to be held Friday, July 10 from 4-8PM at Brookside Chapel &Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Route 121A, Plaistow, NH. Her funeral will be held Saturday at 10:00AM at the funeral home, followed by burial in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen, MA.
