Rose Deirmendjian

Rose Deirmendjian, 94, born on December 24, 1924, in Aleppo, Syria. Passed away January 20, 2019. Loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister teacher and expert restorer of rugs and textiles. Rose is survived by her three sons, their wives, children, grand children, great grandchildren and four siblings.

Rose was a dedicated teacher, an expert restorer of antique, rare museum quality rugs and period tapestries. Rose trained many in the art of restoration of rugs and tapestries. She served as president of the Armenian Genealogical Society. Was a member of the Armenian Relief Society. Rose was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

After moving to California in 1964, she lived in the Wilshire Ward, later in the Hollywood Ward of the Los Angeles Stake where she taught Sunday School in her native Armenian. She lived her final years in Moorpark, California. She was an avid reader of books and scriptures in Armenian and English. Rose enjoyed reading Armenian literature and poetry. For Rose, daily learning was a life long passion. Rose supported Armenian causes. She sponsored many legal immigrants and freed them from tyrannical regimes.

Rose had compassion for the downtrodden, the less fortunate. Her mission was to help anyone in need. She gave of her means before asked. Her life lessons will live in our hearts and minds. She passed through the veil and now joins heavenly hosts for all eternity awaiting the resurrection with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Funeral services will be held Wednesday January 30th at 12:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, 6300 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90068. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills, California.
