Rose Marie (Champagne) Carson, born on December 10, 1954, in Pasadena, California, passed away peacefully at the age of 70, surrounded by her family on January 3, 2025, in West Covina, California. She was the cherished daughter of Bobbie and Eva Laine Champagne.
Rose is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of many years, Dave Karl Carson. Their love story began with a blind date on January 3, 1975—an introduction arranged by a mutual friend—and blossomed into a lifelong partnership filled with love and shared adventures. She is also fondly remembered by her children: Wendi McCance (Eric), Christy Rattray (Chad), and David Carson (Lisa); as well as her beloved grandchildren: Isla Rattray, Sam Rattray, Benson McCance, Ava Carson, and Cade Carson. Rose is also survived by her siblings, Mikie Bixler and Randy Champagne, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her church family.
A lifelong resident of Southern California with a brief but memorable chapter in Alaska—where she humorously claimed to have ridden a moose—Rose brought warmth and dedication to every aspect of her life. For 35 years, she worked as a retail clerk, where her kindness and genuine care left an indelible mark on colleagues and customers alike. Beyond her professional life, Rose found immense joy in being "Nana" to her grandchildren. Her love for them was boundless and evident in the countless moments she spent creating cherished memories with them.
Faith was the cornerstone of Rose’s life. In 2006, she found her spiritual home at West Covina Hills Seventh-Day Adventist Church. There she was baptized alongside her husband and embraced opportunities to serve within the church community. A true prayer warrior who lived by the words of John 14:15—"If you love me, keep my commands"—Rose found great joy in sharing the message of Jesus’ love with others.
Traveling with Dave brought Rose some of her happiest memories. Among their many adventures together was an unforgettable trip to the East Coast during autumn to witness the vibrant fall foliage—a season she adored most. She also delighted in shopping for bargains and spending time with those closest to her heart.
Rose’s kindness, devotion to family, unwavering faith, and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May Rose’s memory bring comfort and inspiration to those she held dear.
