With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Rosario “Rosie” Oliveria Villafania, beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Born on September 21, 1936, in Dinalupihan, Bataan, Rosie lived a life filled with love, kindness, and dedication to God and to her family. She passed away peacefully on October 12, 2024, at the age of 88.
Rosie was the second of seven siblings, born to Mercedes Mallari and Jeremias Oliveria of Dinalupihan. She is predeceased by her siblings Nellie, Edgardo, and Carmen, and is survived by her sisters Edith, Espie, and Aurora. She married her lifelong partner, Eufracio “Efren” Villafania, with whom she shared 67 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they raised two daughters, Ruth and Joy, who blessed them with grandchildren Andrew, Kei, and Joshua, and great-grandchildren Hermione Claire, and Selene Elizabeth.
Rosie spent most of her adult life in Caniogan, Pasig, before moving to Long Beach, California, in 2010, where she enjoyed her remaining years surrounded by her loving family. Her faith and values were central to her, offering strength throughout her life.
Known for her warmth, generosity, and commitment to her family, Rosie will be remembered for the joy she brought to others and the way she touched the lives of those around her.
Rosie is survived by her devoted husband Efren, daughters Ruth and Joy, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her three siblings: Edith, Espie, and Aurora. She also leaves behind countless other family members, friends, and loved ones who cherished her deeply.
Rosie’s life will be celebrated in a private service at Forest Lawn, where she will be laid to rest.
