Indio

Rosario D. Nuño passed away peacefully at her home in Indio, California on April 26, 2024 at the age of 93.  She left to join the love of her life, Antonio Sr. and her beloved son, Antonio Jr. (Tony).  Rosario was born October 5, 1930 to Rosario and Refugio Davalos.

She was a woman of great faith, a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother who was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, wisdom and love in abundance.  Rosario was the "Queen Bee", the glue that held and kept her family together.

She is survived by her eight children, 21 grandchildren: son Mauricio of San Diego and his children Antonio Nuño, Leticia Nuño, Morris Nuño, Fernando Nuño and Esteban Lara; daughter Martha (Tony) Franco of Indio and her children Erika Rondorf, Tony Franco Jr., Brian Franco, Melissa Franco and Melanie Franco; son George of Indio and his children Diandra Salcido and George Nuño Jr.; son Richard (Tamara) and his son Richard Nuño Jr.; daughter Leticia Watson of San Diego and her daughter Shelby Harvey; son Gus (Susie) of Palm Desert and his children Kiesha Connelly, Tianna Sloan and Hayley Nuno; son Hector (Nanci) of Bermuda Dunes and his children Hector Nuño Jr. and Monique Hart; daughter Veronica (Eusebio) Canero of Indio and her children Michael Ramirez-Canero and Matthew Canero.  She is also survived by 42 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren as well as her three siblings: Consuelo Ramirez of Los Angeles, Nena Velasco of Monterey Park and Cuca (Luis) Orosco of San Diego.

She is preceded in death by her father Rosario and mother Refugio and brothers Pedro, Miguel and Felix. We mourn the loss of our mother but we rejoice to know she is at peace with our Lord.  She will be truly missed by all her family but her memory will live on in our hearts forever.

Memorial Services (both days) will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.  Viewing will be from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.; Rosary from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28.  Mass will be on Wednesday, May 29 at 10:00 a.m., followed by interment at Coachella Valley Cemetery.  Forest Lawn is in charge of arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Our Lady of Perpetual Church at 82-450 Bliss Avenue, Indio, California, 92201
