Rosario Jaramillo, 78, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family in California, marking the end of a life well lived and a legacy that will endure in the hearts of all who knew her.
As a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she is survived by her four children: Sandra Jaramillo, Sophia Farina (husband Joseph Farina), George Jaramillo (wife Wendy Jaramillo), Veronica Jaramillo (husband Brian Drouin); Nine grandchildren, Aszur Antonelli-Enriquez, Timothy Antonelli, Christina Amerault, Sean Jaramillo, Isabella Farina, Danny (Celeste) Jaramillo, Nicholas Sanders, Adrian Drouin, Priscilla Jaramillo; and Four great-grandchildren Jason Jaramillo, Luna Jaramillo, Oliver Amerault, and Naima Enriquez.
On April 19, 1945, Rosario Jaramillo—one of nine children—was born in Alaquez, Ecuador, to Isadora and Alberto Vaca. Rosario moved to the United States at eighteen, later became a US Citizen, earned an Associate Degree in Business at Northampton Community College, and managed an apartment building she owned in Bethlehem, PA.
She was a devout Roman Catholic and acted as a servant to the Lord as a member of the Legion of Mary, where she prayed rosaries over the sick and imprisoned. She also helped families and children prepare to receive the sacrament of Baptism and Holy Communion.
Rosario was a beautiful, generous, passionate person whose smile lit up the room. She was committed to her family and positively impacted many lives. She enjoyed physical activity, including gardening, dancing, bicycling, swimming, hiking and walking. She will be remembered on the dance floor, at the beach, and at church, activities that comprised her greatest joys. Her children will greatly miss her unconditional love and support.
Flower arrangements can be sent to Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills, CA, for arrival on Monday, March 11, 2024.
