Rosario R. Itchon

Rosario R. Itchon, fondly known as Rosy, was born October 3, 1944, in Villasis, Pangasinan, Philippines to Francisca and Francisco Itchon, and had 12 siblings. Rosario graduated from the University of the East in the Philippines with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce. Rosario immigrated to the United States in 1969 with her husband, Bonifacio Dela Cruz and daughter, Maria. She first lived in California for a few years and gave birth to another daughter, Christine. She and the family moved to Virginia where she gave birth to her only son, Oscar, and youngest daughter, Sheila. The Dela Cruz family moved back to California in 1979 where Rosario spent the remaining years of her life.
Rosario had various jobs in banking, such as working at the Naval Hospital accounting department as a collection agent and at several banks as a teller and check processor. Her main "job" was a full-time mother raising four children. Rosario held strong to her roots and heritage as she was an active member of The Villasinians of Southern California, where she held the position as Vice President. She spent her later years enjoying time with her nine grandkids and going to Las Vegas and Pechanga with her sisters and brothers. Rosario also spent her extra time serving the Lord as a church usher during Sunday mass. Rosario is fondly remembered for her smile, generosity, and celebratory spirit.
Rosario is survived by her children – Maria, Christine, Oscar and Sheila, son-in-law Sean, daughter-in-law Mika, and nine grandchildren – Juliette, Damianne, Lincoln, Justine, Angelique, Jazmin, Malia, Oscar Masato, and Airi.
