Rosalina Gonzaga Cosico, age 84, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2019. She was born in Santo Tomas, Batangas in the Philippines on June 7, 1935. Rosalina will join her loving parents, Nicholas and Caridad and her younger brother Romulo in Heaven.
The greatest gift in Rosalina's life was God and the love & closeness of family ~ especially of her husband and children. Each day, night and many times in between, she prayed for her loved ones ~ for their well-being, to ease their suffering and pain, to pray for their success, and always praying for one's good health and happiness. Her love, kindness, and faith was transparent to anyone and everyone who was fortunate enough to meet her.
In 1956, Rosalina graduated with a bachelor's degree in Teaching and Home Economics from the Philippine Women's University in Manila, Philippines. For 14 years, she taught Home Economics and General Education in the areas of Mathemathics and English.
In February of 1960, Rosalina met her best friend and life-time partner, Juan Planillo Cosico. They married on May 21, 1961 and had six beautiful children. To find a better life for the family, Juan moved to the USA in 1969 to seek engineering opportunities and to purchase a home for the family. Rosalina and the children joined Juan in 1971 (1.5 years later). While the children were small, Rosalina was a stay-at-home Mom, caring for them until they were older. She then landed a job as a medical technologist at Medtronics and eventually retired at the age of 57.
Her life was a living example of the Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 â "And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ."
Rosalina is survived by her husband Juan (or John) and children Carl Cosico (Edythe), Mel Cosico, Shirlene Moore (Rich), Jeannette Box (Henry), Glenna Casas (Tony), Walter Cosico (Marie Fe). Her grandchildren are Corinna, Brianna, John, Brandon, Katherine, and Chase. Rosalina is also survived by her eight siblings ~ Gabriel, Florencia, Angelina, Felicidad, Merlinda, Aurora, Daisy, and Elizabeth. Rosalina's husband, children and family loved her very much and will miss her dearly.
