With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of our dear, cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who joined her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ on March 1, 2026. Up until the end, Rosie maintained her kindness, grace, compassion, love of family and friends, and expressed gratitude for her long life, full of wonderful and varied experiences. She is deeply mourned by her three daughters, Teresa Taylor, Cecilia Flood, and Marilou Lin, her eight grandchildren, Christopher Rodriguez, Nichole Cardoza, Joshua Forrester, Jake Forrester, Brooke Vallee, Lia Lin, Loren Lin, her six great-grandchildren, Jojo Cardoza, Mikayla Cardoza, Alyssa Cardoza, Diego Rodriguez, Cruz Rodriguez, and Callum Vallee, and her extended family and many friends.
She was born and raised in Bulacan, Philippines in 1935 to Margarita and Ramon Santos. She was the second eldest amongst her three brothers. In 1962, after a short courtship, she married Bes Resma. Bes emigrated to the U.S. in 1968, and the family followed in 1969. Within the same year, Rosie applied for a secretarial job at Smith Emery Labs and was immediately hired. She spent the next 51 years working as a bookkeeper/secretary. She loved her job and the people she worked with. They were her second family.
Rosie’s life can best be encapsulated by her love for her family, her love of singing in the choir and praying with her Cursillo group, endless hours in her garden, her devotion to praying daily, eating Filipino food, celebrating and dancing with friends at birthdays and special events, and spreading joy to everyone she met. In her 90 years here with us, she experienced an abundance of each, always giving herself to others in every situation. Her love for spending time with her family and friends, dancing, praying, singing in the choir, attending mass, and gardening brought joy to everyone.
Rosie was a force and the brightest spot in any given situation. She leaves a huge void in our lives and will forever be remembered for her generosity, love, kindness, and ability to bring happiness to us all.
