Rosalee (Reitz) (Dale)Lewis, age 73, of Indio, California passed away August 30, 2013 at JFK Memorial Hospital in Indio, CA with her family by her side. Rosalee was born December 20, 1939 in Paxton, Nebraska to Chris and Rosa Reitz. She was united in marriage to Harold "Harry" Dale and from that union came three children; Christian, Kim and Bruce. She was a homemaker and also worked for Whitaker Furniture in North Platte, Nebraska. In August 1976, Rosalee and her three children moved to Fort Collins, Colorado where she worked at Century 21. She moved to the Coachella Valley in southern California in 1998 where she remained until her death.
Rosalee was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Palm Desert, CA. She enjoyed gardening, scrapbooking, reading and painting. She loved music, sang in Church choirs when able and played the piano beautifully. She also enjoyed attending her children's sporting events and school concerts. Rosalee was known for her loving heart, her gift of hospitality, her age defying skin, and the best strawberry and chocolate chiffon pies in the world. She loved life, her family, and her friends. As a mother, she taught her children to do the same. As a single parent, she raised her children to be strong, independent adults, just as she was.
Survivors include: children, Christian (Julie) Dale of La Quinta, CA, Kim Thompson of Highlands Ranch, CO and Bruce (partner William Abele) Dale of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Marjorie (Justin) Paiyarat of Indio, CA, Seth (Alexandria) Dale of Palm Desert, CA, Kelsey Thompson of Greeley, CO; great-grandchild, Gabriella Dale; brothers, Richard (Phyllis) Reitz of Mesa, AZ, Michael Reitz of Rockledge, FL, many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents and a brother, Timothy J Reitz.
Memorial Service will be held October 12, 2013, 1pm at Hope Lutheran Church in Palm Desert, CA.
Her remains will be scattered at a later date.
