Rosa Vargas, 70, born Rosa Garcia, on September 7, 1948, in Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico, passed away April 21, 2019.
Rosa will be fondly remembered by those who knew her as a strong, generous, fair, open-minded, brave, wise, and loving woman of God. Saying goodbye from Earth are her seven children, ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, four brothers, five sisters, many nieces and nephews, Godchildren, and countless friends. We all know how much Rosa loved life. We also know she loved and respected God. Therefore, those who mourn her loss here on Earth also rejoice because we know with spiritual certainty she is in God's House now. Rosa lived her life for others as she fought obstacles along the way with dignity and strength. Her children would like the world to know what an honor it is to call her Mother.
Rosa traveled to this country to pursue a better life for herself and family in the 1960's. She worked hard as a childcare worker and domestic worker. She raised eight children with her hard working husband, Otilio Vargas (1944- 2006). Rosa and Otilio loved the country that welcomed and adopted them. They both became proud citizens of the U.S.A. while holding strong to their Mexican culture.
She was a devout Catholic and Humanitarian. She helped anyone in need. Rosa loved to listen to music and dance. She was the greatest cook ever. Those who were fortunate enough to taste her delicious dishes will agree. Rosa loved all animals especially dogs. She always had a pet and cared for them very well. Her hobbies included gardening, watching her novelas and movies, spending time with her family, visiting her departed loved ones at the cemetery and collecting animal figurines. She was also an avid walker. Rosa and Otilio moved to Baldwin Park in the early 1980's. She resided in Baldwin Park, California at the time of her passing.
Everyone is welcome to attend her services to bid farewell for now, mourn her passing, celebrate her life, and share their memories of her.
