Ronnie Harrison

Ronnie Mary Stella Harrison was born on March 15, 1937, to Alice Espinola.

As a child, Ronnie was happy-go-lucky. She matured into a beautiful woman inside and out.

Ronnie loved her church, Nativity Catholic Church in Los Angeles, and with her husband, Ivan, was exceptionally active in church service. Assisting with communion was among her favorite responsibilities, and she was instrumental in getting several of her daycare children baptized. She also sang in the choir and was always willing to help with festivals and other special events.

A leader in her neighborhood community, frequently lending support to her many friends, Ronnie’s neighbors continuously gifted her with food and flowers. As business owner of a successful child daycare, Ronnie cared for scores of children. Throughout the years, many visited and even called her “Grandma.”

Ronnie passed away peacefully at her home in Los Angeles on May 19, 2023. She is survived by Ivan Harrison, her loving husband of 65 years; her daughter; and her son, David Harrison. She also leaves her sisters, Cynthia Rocha-Debarros and Cheryl DaCosta; a cousin, Eddie; three sisters-in-law, Verlette Brummell, Mary Harrison and Lydia Harrison; a brother-in-law, Phillip Harrison; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
