Ronald Wornell, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on November 26, 2025, in Upland, California. Born in Tacoma, Washington, on January 26, 1946, Ron lived a life filled with adventure, humor, and love. He was 79 years old at the time of his passing.

Ronald was a pioneer in Internet Technology, previously known as Computer Processing, a field he dedicated over thirty years of his life. His career took him across the globe, including travels to distant countries like India, where he shared his expertise and passion for technology. In his later years, he became a realtor, embracing this new chapter of his life with the same enthusiasm that had defined his professional journey.

Education held a special place in Ron's heart; he proudly earned a Master's Degree in Business Administration from the esteemed Claremont Colleges. This accomplishment, along with his service as a Radio Man III in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, where he faced the trials of service with resilience and bravery, stands as a testament to his dedication and strength. During his time in Vietnam, Ron was exposed to Agent Orange, which affected him for the rest of his life. However, he never let life's disappointments get him down.

Ron’s personality was infectious; he was known for his mischievous sense of humor and his ability to light up any room with a smile and a joke. He had a remarkable gift for making friends effortlessly, and those friendships transformed into family, especially during his time at Atria Del-Rey. Among his cherished companions were Duane, Sonja, Colene, Empress, and Tricia, who all contributed to the tapestry of joy and laughter in his life.

His adventurous spirit was epitomized not only in his career but also in his hobbies and interests. He was also passionate about outdoor adventures, having climbed the challenging Half Dome with his son David, and he trained hard for marathons, enjoying every step of those thrilling races. Ron loved making memories with his grand-dog, Buddy, and taking trips with his sons and his wife, Kay.

Ron is survived by his loving sons, David and John Wornell, his daughter-in-law Katrina Wornell, his niece Kathy Evans, and his granddaughter Mariah Brewer. He leaves behind cherished memories that will resonate in the hearts of those who loved him and learned from him.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Kay Wornell and his son Christopher Wornell, both of whom remain eternally in his heart. The bond he shared with Kay was characterized by love, laughter, and a deep connection, enriching both their lives with joy and companionship.

A funeral service to honor Ron's remarkable life will be held on January 16, 2026, at the Forest Lawn - Covina Hills - Church of our Heritage, located at 21300 Via Verde Drive, Covina, CA 91724, starting at 12:00 PM. A graveside blessing will be held immediately after the service.

As we remember Ronald Wornell, let us celebrate his spirit of adventure, his love for family, and the laughter he brought into the lives of so many. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.
