Ronald Ragland

Ronald (Ron) Ragland was born in Stanton (Haywood County) Tennessee to the late Charlie and Dorothy Ragland on August 18, 1950.

Ron attended elementary, junior high, and high school in Los Angeles, CA. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from CSULA and a Master’s Degree in Business from Pepperdine University in Malibu.

Ron worked in the Insurance Industry for over 30 years. He worked at Occidental Life and Casualty, TransAmerica, Provident, and WellPoint before retiring in 2007. He cherished and maintained the relationships he made over the years.

Ron enjoyed reading, classic movies, Westerns, cooking and grilling, and traveling (his favorite destinations being Paris, France and New Orleans, Louisiana). His passion was golf and he got to play great courses across the United States, Ireland, Scotland, and New Zealand. Ron belonged to several golf associations: American Seniors Golf Association, California Seniors Golf Association, and Duke’s Club. He also belonged to Wilshire Country Club in Los Angeles, CA— where he served one term as President— and Corral De Tierra Country Club in Monterey County, CA.

Ron passed February 21, 2024 at Cedars Sinai Hospital. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Wanda Ragland of 51 years, son Ryan R. Ragland (Izabel), daughter Ronna N. Ragland, granddaughter Isabella “Cutie” Ragland, sister Ouita E. Ragland, brother Kevin C. Ragland (Elizabeth), brother Duane F. Ragland (Lily) and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Arrangements are under the care of Forest Lawn, Hollywood, CA
