Ronald Louie

Ronald Glenn Louie, a loving husband, a proud father and a brother, passed away peacefully at home in Anaheim, California on March 26th, 2025, at the age of 68. He was predeceased by his parents, Josephine and Frank Louie. He is survived by his wife Flora, children Jennifer, Richard, Ariel, Danielle; and siblings Harvey, Roger and Gail. Born in San Francisco on November 23, 1956, Ron lived in Sacramento until the age of 12 when his family moved to Cypress, California. He attended Pacifica Highschool, Cal State Long Beach with a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Quality Engineering from Cal State Dominguez Hills while working at Boeing and raising a family.

Ron worked at McDonnell Douglas/Boeing in Huntington Beach until the year 2001, when the company was bought out by Boeing. He was a very successful and valued Quality Engineer whose expertise was sought after by every team he worked on. While at McDonnel Douglas, he met his wife, Flora and were married for 35 years. He later joined the Aerospace corporation as a Mission Assurance Engineer in El Segundo where he travelled extensively for his job. He worked very hard to support his family so that Flora could stay home to care for the children. He also managed and operated a vanpool from Cypress to El Segundo.

His hobbies include racing homing pigeons, fishing, skiing, shooting, and listening to rock music, his favorites include: Journey, Foreigner and Police. He loved riding his motorcycle and driving his Mustang at 100+ mph. He enjoyed gambling and visited casinos wherever he was traveling. He and Flora went to the beach often, walking, fishing, watching the sunset and having a bonfire beach barbeque at night with friends in the summers. He also enjoyed lighting up fireworks on the 4th of July and would go see the Disneyland fireworks with his family on summer evenings at the corner of Ball and Harbor Boulevard. He loved to build things and was very handy around the house. In addition to backyard barbeques, he looked forward to preparing turkey for Thanksgiving and Christmas for his family. He also loved Star Trek so much he gave Richard and Danielle middle names after Star Trek’s Riker and Deanna characters. Josephine is Ariel’s middle name in honor of his mother.

After being diagnosed with Parkinson’s at the very young age of 52, he continued to work until 60. He pushed through and maximized his time with his family, going on vacations, skiing, fishing, flying his pigeons, going to the beach, enjoying his boat, bought a faster Mustang, went shooting, doing all the things he loved to do and trying new ones. He was a fighter and was in the driver’s seat until the very end.

He led a life very well lived, he was passionate, checked all the boxes, and pushed boundaries. A life maximized, a potential reached, a dream realized and love reciprocated, Ron was a true success by any measure. He provided a wonderful life for his family and was loved dearly.

In his last days and moments, his family was by his side, surrounding him with love. He will be sorely missed,…husband, father, brother and friend. But we will forever have the memory of his love for us, our love for him and the joy and happiness that we shared.

Memorial Service will on April 19, 2025 at 10:45AM, at Forest Lawn in Cypress, Church of Our Fathers. He will be interred at Forest Lawn Cypress.
