A life defined by steadfast service, Ronald’s journey took him from the barracks of West Germany with the U.S. Army to a distinguished career spanning the Air Force Reserve, law enforcement, and the postal service.

He is survived by his daughter, Kristi Truong, and her husband, Quang Truong, his grandchildren, Rusty and Reace Rinehart, and his nephews, Richard Snyder, Ross Snyder (with his wife, Lori, and their children), and Bill Degnan (with his children). Ronald’s career was defined by dedication to public service. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1955, serving in West Germany, and later devoted 27 years to the U.S. Air Force Active Reserve, retiring as a Master Sergeant in 1985. His civilian tenure included 25 years with the California Highway Patrol, where he retired as a Sergeant, and 22 years with the United States Postal Service at the Santa Barbara facility in Goleta. A proud member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks for 53 years, Ronald was a lifetime member of Santa Maria Lodge #1538 and served as Exalted Ruler of Santa Barbara Lodge #613 in 1996-1997. His contributions included marching with the Flag Color Guard, coaching rituals, and supporting veterans, with his influence felt across lodges from San Luis Obispo to El Cajon.

Arrangements are entrusted to Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills. Ronald’s legacy of duty and devotion endures in the hearts of his family and the communities he served.
