Ronald Aggson of Palm Desert, Calif., passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Eisenhower Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born on January 30, 1926, in Fort Morgan, Colo. to Raymond Aggson and Leeora Fox. He graduated from high school in 1944. He entered Colorado College as part of the Navy V12 Program, graduating in 1948 with a BA degree. He was commissioned as an Ensign, retiring from the Navy in 1977 with the rank of Commander. In 1950, he met Elaine Phillips in France, where she was a student. They were married in July of 1952 in North Muskegon, Mich.. After his retirement, he had a small business and was a house husband, raising their teenage daughter, Karen, while Elaine pursued her career. After several career moves, Elaine retired and they moved to Palm Desert where they have been full-time residents at Monterey Country Club, since 1988. Ron was an avid tennis player, golfer, and Life Master Bridge player. He was a member of Sigma Chi, Military Officer's Association, Naval Reserve Association and Monterey Country Club. He served several terms as Director of HOA's in Hawaii, Palos Verdes, Laguna Nigel and Monterey Country Club. He was predeceased by a brother, Roger Aggson, and his daughter, Karen. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Elaine, a nephew, John Aggson of Fort Morgan, Colo., and several grand nephews and nieces. Graveside services and interment will be held at Riverside National Cemetery, Staging Area #4, 22495 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside, Calif. on Tuesday, July 2, at 11:45 a.m. A celebration of Life will follow at Monterey Country Club in Palm Desert at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please remember Ron with a donation to your favorite charity. Always an officer, a gentleman and a friend, he will be missed. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn Cathedral City.
