Romy Octa

Romy Octa, born Romeo Hernandez Octa on August 8, 1941, in Daet, Camarines Norte, Philippines, passed away into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 24, 2025. He was in Pomona Valley Hospital and Medical Center at the time of his passing. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, friend, and member of his community, whose impact will be felt for generations to come.

Throughout his life, Romy demonstrated an adventurous spirit, thoughtfulness, curiosity, intelligence, love for family, hardwork, faith, fidelity and an unwavering commitment to those he loved and principles he believed in. He dedicated countless hours to both his family and his work, often embodying the spirit of service that inspired everyone around him. He was the quiet yet resilient force of the family. 

Romy's journey took him from the shores of the Philippines to the United States, where he embraced new opportunities and fostered deep connections within the community. He was known for his kindness and willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Romy’s life during the funeral services scheduled at Forest Lawn - Covina Hills - Memory Chapel on May 12, 2025, beginning at 5:00 PM, concluding at 9:00 PM. A second service will take place at the Forest Lawn - Covina Hills - Church of our Heritage on May 13, 2025, starting at 12:00 PM and concluding at 1:00 PM. The funeral service will be streaming live. Interment to immediately follow at the Vale of Faith Gardens. Reception will be held in Upland at 2:00 PM. 

Romy Octa will be dearly missed, but his legacy of love, kindness, and caring will live on in the hearts of those he touched throughout his lifetime.
