Roman Cayton Cabading

Nov. 18, 1939 – July 30, 2026

With grateful hearts for a life well lived and faith in the resurrection promised by Christ, we celebrate the life of Roman Cayton Cabading, who passed away peacefully on July 30, 2026, at the age of 86 years. He was a much-loved husband, father, grandfather, and friend who touched all who knew him with his quiet strength, gentle spirit, and unquestioning faith.

Roman was born in Dupax del Norte, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines, on November 18, 1939, and carried the warmth of his homeland and the richness of his Filipino heritage throughout his life. He later settled in Rancho Cucamonga, California, where he became a highly respected member of his community and parish.

Roman’s life was grounded in his Catholic faith. The sacraments gave him strength, prayer, peace, and the purpose of serving others. His daily life was built around the Eucharist and the Blessed Mother. At Mass, praying the rosary and the chaplet of the Divine Mercy, or simply offering a quiet word of encouragement, Roman lived his faith not as a set of beliefs but as a way of life. He was a true son of the Church, and his faith in the providence of God never failed him, even in the trials of life.

Roman was a family man above all. He loved well and gave of himself generously to those he loved. His presence was calming and reassuring, and his gentle humor could brighten any room. He leaves a legacy of love, integrity, and quiet heroism that will continue to motivate his family for generations to come.

Roman is survived by his loving family, who will carry his memory forward with gratitude and joy. His parents and others who have gone before him preceded him in death, and we comfort ourselves with the knowledge that he is now with them in the presence of our Heavenly Father.

We mourn his departure, but we mourn with hope. We believe in the promise of Jesus Christ, who said, “I am the resurrection and the life." Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live” (John 11:25). Roman has gone to be with the Lord, where he now lives in the fullness of eternal life, free from pain and sorrow.
