In the eyes of his family, his most cherished title was 'Best Grandfather,' a role he embodied with boundless warmth and spirited playfulness.
With profound sorrow and enduring gratitude, we announce the passing of Rolando Jose Reyes, a beloved companion, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, who departed this life on July 22, 2026, following an unexpected battle with stage 4 neuroendocrine carcinoma. He graced this world for sixty-five years, having been born on December 13, 1960—a span of time in which he wove a life distinguished by love, humor, devotion, and resilience.
Rolando’s journey was shaped by an unwavering commitment to family and a boundless generosity that left a mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. As a father, Rolando nurtured and guided his children—Clare Reyes, Rolando Jose Reyes Jr., Raquel Esmeralda Reyes—with pride, wisdom, and affection, forever cherishing their accomplishments and dreams as if they were his own. In the eyes of his family, his most cherished title was “Best Grandfather,” a role he embodied with boundless warmth and spirited playfulness.
Among his surviving family, Rolando leaves behind his sisters Gioconda, Fatima, and Vivian Reyes; his nieces Jennifer, Stephanie, Giovanna, Linda, Scarleth, Alejandra, and Jessica; his nephews Ricardo, Kayvan, Rolando Gómez, and Donald Gómez. Their love, shared memories, and admiration are Rolando’s living legacy. He is also deeply mourned by the broader circle of family and friends whose lives he enriched with his steadfast presence and infectious humor.
Rolando’s personal character was marked by a playful wit, a loving heart, and a touch of stubbornness—qualities that endeared him to all who knew him. He brought laughter into every room he entered and provided for his family with unwavering tenacity, earning a reputation as the reliable provider whose foremost concern was always the wellbeing of those he loved.
His professional life in Internal Services was a reflection of his integrity and diligence, yet it was beyond the workplace where Rolando’s spark truly shone. Deeply passionate about golf and skillful at the poker table, he found joy in leisure pursuits, infused with his trademark good humor and sense of adventure. Trips to the casino—especially those shared with family—became cherished traditions, rich with laughter and familial camaraderie.
The loss of Rolando reunites him in memory with his late brother Donald A. Reyes, his beloved mother Nelly Reyes, his father Donald Reyes Conrado, and his youngest brother Douglas Reyes who recently passed away on July 31, 2026. Their spirits now welcome him with open arms. Hopefully in heaven Douglas and Rolando are chasing jackpots on their favorite slot machines as they would before they passed.

A visitation will be held on August 5, 2026, at 5:00 PM at Forest Lawn - Hollywood Hills - Faith Chapel, 6300 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90068.
