Dear Family and Friends,
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rolando Cabug, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many. Rolando was born on March 24, 1946, in Cavite City, Philippines and peacefully departed on May 23, 2024 at 5:10am, in Paramount, California.
A man of dedication and service, he served in the United States Navy for 20 years before embarking on a career in Nutrition for 25 years at the VA hospitals in Long Beach and West Los Angeles.
One of Rolando's fondest pastimes was competing in a Bowling League every Friday - a tradition followed by indulging in pizza with his family. His inclination for Western films intertwined with his cultural roots as he delighted in watching Filipino drama shows, News and Sports; A particular love for Tennis showcased his appreciation for skill and sportsmanship.
Those who had the privilege of knowing him will always remember his quiet demeanor and warm hospitality. He had a special way of making everyone feel at home by offering food and sharing his love for Filipino cuisine. His love for cooking extended beyond his kitchen as he enjoyed dining out at restaurants, especially indulging in all-you-can-eat buffets.
Rolando's interests were as diverse as they were endearing. From fishing to bowling, playing cards with his brothers and friends to cultivating fruits in his backyard garden, he found joy in every moment spent doing what he loved.
He is survived by his wife Emelda, Four daughters Joyce, Grace, Melody, and Liberty; Grandson’s Nathaniel, Jonathan, Evan, and Connor. As well as Kona the faithful dog who brought him endless joy and companionship.
