Rodolfo Jose Softli, known as Rudy Softli, was born on June 3rd, 1960, and passed away on February 10th, 2025. He was born in Seattle, Washington, and lived the majority of his life in Los Angeles with his two brothers William (Amy) Wilson and Rick Softli and mother Harriet Wilson. Rudy has many brothers whom he never got to meet and is survived by his only son, Alex (Sandra) Softli.

From a very young age, he fell in love with rock music— classic, metal, alternative, as long as it was rock… and loud. He loved attending concerts with his son and his friends and dyeing his hair red. He was an avid snowboarder, a sidecar racer, he jumped out of a plane, and so many more adventures of a life lived to the fullest. Alex was his greatest joy in life, and he loved to go on many adventures with him, such as snowboarding in Whistler on Canadian Glaciers or up in Mammoth Mountain, becoming a Scout Leader at Delphi Academy, and taking scores of kids camping or even just small weekend trips to Big Bear Lake.

After graduating from Venice High School, Rudy started as an assistant in a metalworking shop and eventually chose the trade as a plumber. During this time, he made friends and quickly learned the business of water filtration and eventually started his own successful company. He was incredibly proud of his work and took great care to do a good, clean job. He really cared for his clients, felt like many of them were family, and enjoyed spending time catching up with them while he worked. He would regularly spend hours chatting and working with them and would even have dinners with many of them as he became a member of their families.

Rudy felt fulfilled being an active church member and helping within his community. He fought for religious freedom and was proud to become a lifetime member of his church. He strove to educate himself on how to better his life and help others and was very proud to have been on his extension course for over 226 consecutive weeks.

At the time of his passing, he resided in Los Angeles, California. Arrangements are under the care of Forest Lawn, Hollywood, CA., where flowers can be sent. We will all miss his youthful and infectious laugh, and we wish him well on his next adventures.
