Rodolfo Barayoga

Rodolfo Barayoga, affectionately known as Rudy, was born on August 4, 1945, in San Juan, Baao, Camarines Sur, Philippines. He left this world unexpectedly on November 20, 2024, in Upland, California, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and generosity that has touched many lives.

Rudy dedicated his professional life to serving others, spending 15 years working for San Miguel Corporation in the Philippines before embarking on a remarkable 30-year journey at Cedars Sinai Hospital in California. His work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident to all who knew him. He earned an Associate's Degree in Applied Electronics, further showcasing his dedication to learning and professional development.

Beyond his career, Rudy was a man of deep compassion and heartfelt charity. He was a source of support for his family, proudly providing livelihoods for his siblings and helping his nephews and nieces achieve their dreams of higher education. This profound impact on his loved ones reflects the heart of a true family man, committed to uplifting those around him.

Known for his generous spirit, Rudy found immense joy in celebrating life's little occasions. He had a penchant for purchasing treats, often indulging others with cakes from Karina's, which became a beloved staple at gatherings he attended. His delightful surprises fostered connection and joy among family and friends alike.

In addition to his caring nature, Rudy was renowned for his skills as a consummate handyman and planter. He took great pride in tending to every nook and cranny that needed repair at home and looking after various plants in his backyard. His hands were always ready to build a pergola, assist with a gazebo, or lend his expertise in painting various rooms. These moments spent in collaboration and creativity created lasting memories that will be cherished by those he worked alongside.

Rudy’s commitment to his faith was unwavering. A devout Catholic, he attended church whenever he could, finding solace and strength in his spirituality. His military service in the Philippine Army and his honorable tenure with the Philippine Constabulary instilled in him principles of duty and dedication that characterized his life.

He is survived by his beloved son Juan, daughter-in-law Veejay, and granddaughters Megan and Kylie. His siblings Lilia, Felipe, and Salome continue to carry his memory in their hearts. He is also cherished in remembrance by the family and friends who were fortunate to know him.

Rudy has rejoined his beloved wife Paz and Maureen, his mother Barbara, father Simplicio, and sister Anita, who welcomed him with open arms. Though he is no longer with us in body, the spirit of love, support, and joy he imparted to all remains inseparable from who we are.

Visitation services will be held at Forest Lawn - Hollywood Hills - Faith Chapel in Los Angeles, CA, on December 18 and December 19, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Funeral Service will follow on December 20, 2024, at 9:30 AM at the Church of the Hills, also at Forest Lawn - Hollywood Hills.
