Rod Thomas Jung, Jr., 51, otherwise known as "Moviebizman", born on November 30, 1971, in Arlington Heights, Illinois, United States, was a resident of Cypress, California. Rod and his son Joshua were taken from us too soon. They were the victims of a DUI driver collision that ended their lives fatally on February 25th, 2023, only one mile from their home. Rod had a passion for making films and videos. Following high school, he did a short tour in the Air Force, returned home, then attended and graduated from California State University at Dominguez Hills with a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Videography. Rod began his career at Sony Pictures Entertainment. Later Rod transitioned his career to hone his self-taught IT skills, and worked for various entertainment companies such as Fox Studios, Thales Group, ATT/Directv.
Rod was best known for his humor and for his love to be not only "Daddy" to his son but also as his best buddy and partner. Rod's wife often referred to him as "Bear"and as one of "her boys." This was mainly because of Rod's capacity to retain his child-like delight in many things, especially when it came to being a playmate to his son since he was an only child. For Rod's past times, his favorite hobbies integrated with his multiple talents for handiwork, graphic and video editing while spending time with his son, playing video games, driving go karts, and playing his bass and acoustic guitars, and adding his personal customization of his car and wheels and flying RC Helicopters. Although Rod was born in Chicago, he spent his adolescent and adult life in Southern California. He is an alumnus of La Quinta High School in Westminster.
Rod leaves behind his wife, mom, dad, sister, and his in-law family. Rod very deeply loved his wife and son, his wife’s parents and family, and he also very deeply loved his mom, dad and sister. He and his sister were considered to be almost twins in their personality and character. Everyone on both sides of the families enjoyed Rod’s video and picture collections and they are grateful for the legacy library he left behind in his google and icloud as well as on his Youtube channel titled, "Moviebizman". They are very deeply saddened by the tragic loss of his and Joshua's lives. Rod and his sister were going to attend night university together to get their PMP once she returned from her overseas tour but now she will never get to experience this with her only sibling. They spoke frequently through facetime and social media platforms. This is the biggest wound in her broken heart.
Rod's mother realized over the years that he inherited so many traits from her - his love to be social, his love for finer dining, cooking and selective high end kitchenware and she loves that Rod resembled many of her traits. These traits were the driver for how he built a loyal following of friends. Rod Jr's music talent came from his father, Rod Sr. Both Rod and his father were self-taught guitarists. Rod took it a step farther and taught himself to read music. Rod Sr. is so proud of his son because of the man and father he became to his own son. When Rod Sr reflects on Jr's life, he wish he would have told him how proud he was of him more often. Both Rod's Mom and Dad are severely devastated that their son left this world before them. This is the hardest thing for any parent, no matter what age. Without a doubt I know that my brother would have shielded his son from this accident if he knew this was coming and he would have sacrificed his life for Joshua's. He loved Joshua more than anyone in this world. Joshua brought him so much joy.
Rod's memorial service was held at the Patriots Chapel at Forest Lawn Memorial Park on April 2, 2023. 4471 Lincoln Avenue, Cypress, California. His sister Stephanie co-officiated and in her own reflections of her brother she mentioned that once she told him once to stop copying her and following her everywhere. At that time, he was a freshman while she was a senior in high school. Over the past several years, Stephanie came to learn that her brother had a charismatic way of developing loyal friends who loved him for how he cared for people he loved. She ended her reflection with, "Rod Jr, not only do I miss you so much, but I would take pride in following you anywhere you go. Please save a spot for me in Heaven. I love you so much."
