Roberto Olguin

June 7, 1931 — September 26, 2012

Roberto Olguin, 81, passed away Wednesday, September 26th, 2012 after an admirable battle against cancer. To have been blessed with his presence the last few months of his life was truly a miracle as he showed us great determination and strength. He was born June 7th, 1931, in Sinaloa, Mexico and was the son of the late Jesus and Sofia Olguin.

Roberto was married on December 28th, 1956, to Guadalupe Valles. He is survived by his wife; 12 children: Martiniano, Concepcion, Hector, Victor, Sandra, Irma, Lupita, Miriam, Ana, Roberto Jr., Dora, and Mirosalva; as well as 26 grand children, and 6 great grand children.

It's difficult to put into a few words how much he has touched the lives of those around him because he was always full of life. Roberto was a wonderful father, husband, grandfather, brother and great friend to all. He will always be remembered for his strength and how he only got stronger over the years.

Roberto was a very hard-working man who never once complained about having to travel great distances in order to support his growing family. He was an amazing person who had a great sense of humor, which he never lost even during hard times. Although he didn't always show it, he had a beautiful smile and a contagious laugh that could lighten up the dimmest room. He was friendly with everyone and made even strangers feel welcome. He enjoyed making people laugh and loved to dance, but most importantly enjoyed the company of his family.

Roberto taught us the importance of family values and how important it was to practice forgiveness and not hold on to grudges. He also taught us about unconditional love, he loved and cared without expecting anything in return. To him, family was his greatest treasure and meant everything. His final days were spent with family by his side; he was never alone, and always surrounded by love. Although we will miss him, we know that losing him meant that heaven gained an angel that will now be watching over us.
