Roberta Lee Voletti, 96, born on February 11, 1920 in Lone Jack, Missouri, peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday evening, October 13, 2016. Roberta was the beloved wife of Edward Voletti for over 72 years and the beloved mother of James Voletti, Carol (Robert) Spiwak, and Joyce (Randy vanVliet) Voletti. She is also survived by two step-grandchildren, Scott (Theresa) Spiwak and Terri (Mike) Carlill, and seven step-great grandchildren and five step-great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Hugo Lee, mother Margaret Canaday Lee and brothers Robert E. Lee and Ben D. Lee. Roberta had been a resident of Burbank, California, for 52 years at the time of her passing.
Roberta was the kindest, gentlest soul one could ever hope to meet. She never wanted to be a burden to anyone even though we always told her that she had done more than her share all of her life and had earned more than we could ever do for her. She loved her family, her garden, her Dodgers, all kitties, was a crossword puzzle and Scrabble whiz and made excellent fudge candy. Roberta and Edward loved to travel including Europe several times, Hawaii, Alaska and throughout the continental United States. She also loved to read, especially books about the pioneer west. The home she was born in is a noted Civil War landmark which is today a museum. As a child, she always loved to play Lewis & Clark when she lived in the Branson, Missouri area in the late 1920s.
Mom, although we know you're now at rest, you will be so terribly missed every single day. As your beautiful spirit is felt all around us, we know that you're in a place where flowers surround you, the Missouri Waltz is playing, your coffee will always be ready for you in the morning, there's no coconut in anything you eat, you have kittens to cuddle, your Dodgers always win and you can always find a worthy Scrabble opponent or two.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 12:30pm in the Church of the Hills at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles, California.
Our family would be honored by anyone who wishes to send flowers or make a contribution to their favorite charity in remembrance of Roberta.
