Roberta Kase

A Life Well Lived!

Roberta Kase, a Distinguished Career Social Worker and Discharge Planner in the Medical Care and Hospital Field, passed away on January 28, 2024, in Los Angeles, California. 

Roberta was born on August 19, 1949, in Altadena, California.

Roberta's career spanned over 40 years. From 1971, following her graduation from San Diego State University, until she retired in 2012 from Ronald Regan Medical Center. 

Her work was marked by compassion and dedication as she worked tirelessly to make a positive impact on the lives of others. She held various positions throughout her career. This included working for Los Angeles County Social Services to begin her career. 

Then on to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, and Ronald Reagan Medical Center in Los Angeles. Her work as a social worker and discharge planner allowed her to assist countless individuals and families during difficult times.

Outside of her professional life, Roberta cherished time spent with her family and friends during key holidays. She was an organizer. Especially enjoyed coming together for special occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries. 

Her warm and welcoming personality made everyone around her feel at ease, and she had a wonderful sense of humor that brought joy to those fortunate enough to know her.

In her leisure time, Roberta had a passion for music, movies, traveling, cooking, photography, visiting her family and friends.

She found great pleasure in listening to various genres of music. Attended countless live concerts over her life. Hundreds! 

Same goes for her love of movies. Loved watching them on the Big Screen.

She loved experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen. A gourmet cook! 

Her love for photography was well known by all who knew her! It allowed her to capture beautiful moments that will be cherished forever. What a collection she leaves us! Wow!

She found time to follow sports too. Loved Los Angeles sports teams like the Dodgers and Rams, etc. with great enthusiasm. Attended many live events over the years. Including a Super Bowl! She also found relaxation in watching golf tournaments and going to the horse races.

Roberta's educational journey began after elementary school at West Covina High from 1963 to 1967. She then pursued higher education at San Diego State University from 1967 to 1971. She graduated with a Bachelors Degree. 

She worked during her College Summer Vacations and Semester Breaks at Disneyland. She really enjoyed that time in her life at the Magic Kingdom! Who wouldn’t!

Add traveling to her loves. And, did she ever travel! Several trips to Spain and England. with her Mother, Grandmother, other relatives and close friends.

Many trips to visit family and friends. In Ohio where her parents were born. Plus, visits to family and friends all over the United States. Trips to places like New York, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Hawaii. 

As you can see, Roberta lived life like few ever do!

Roberta will be deeply missed by her surviving family members: her brothers Greg Kase and Joe Kase; sister-in-law Karen Catalano-Kase; niece Zoe Catalano-Kase; nephews Theo Catalano-Kase and Wil Catalano-Kase.

She will also be just as deeply missed by her many friends, colleagues and others whose lives she touched. 

Bravo Roberta! You deserve it!

To honor the life and legacy of Roberta Kase, a Funeral Service will be held on March 21, 2024, at Forest Lawn - Covina Hills in Covina, California. All are welcome.  The service will commence at 12:30 PM. The address for the service is 21300 Via Verde Drive, Covina Hills, CA 91724.

A Memorial will take place at a later date TBD. Everyone will be notified. 

Roberta's kindness and dedication to making a difference in the lives of others will forever be remembered. Her warm spirit and sense of humor brought joy to all those who knew her. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her memory be a blessing to all whose lives she touched.
