Beverly, MA: Robert L.  Sicotte, 71, of Beverly, MA, died on Sunday, December 16, 2012, at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, after a brief period of declining health.

He leaves a daughter, Nicole Manuel of Louisiana, his mother, Rita M. Sparfeld, two sisters, Irene Cole and her husband, David and Doris "Chip"' Carreiro, all of East Kingston, NH, an aunt, Bernadette Augusto of Ipswirch, MA and a nephew, Joshua Cole of Auburn, ME.

Bob was born in Salem, MA and was raised and educated in Beverly, attending St. Mary's School where he was a member of the Cardinals Drum & Bugle Corps, and then graduated  Beverly High School in 1960.  He went on to Pennsylvania Military College where he received a B.S. in Engineering and a Commission of 2nd Lieutenant in the U. S. Army in 1965.  He was elevated to the rank of Captain while serving in Vietnam, and upon discharge from the military, he pursued a Masters Degree in Economics from the University of Arizona in Tucson.

Bob was an entrepreneur throughout his professional life, starting several businesses, joint ventures and consulting companies throughout the Mid-west and Texas, but was most proud of the years he spent abroad working for the U.S. government in assisting newly democratized nations devlop economic policies, regulations and business models consistent with the principles of private enterprise and free markets.  His retirement brought a return to Beverly after years of living all around the world.

Bob loved animals and rescued or adopted several dogs and cats over his life, referring to his current and beloved "Stevie the cat"' as his best buddy and soul mate.  

Bob loved sports.  He was an avid fan of the Patriots, Celtics, Red Sox and Bruins, and was equally passionate in his love for college sports, especially Notre Dame Football.  

Family and friends will truly miss Bob's quick wit, dry sense of humor and unending enthusiasm and hopefulness about the next great adventure and what the future can hold.

There will be no calling hours.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2012, at 10 AM at Mary, Mother of the Church, Newton, NH.  Burial will follow at the New Hampshire State Veteran's Cemetery, Boscawen, NH.
