Robert Jay Schaap, 77, born on September 25, 1935, in St. Louis, Missouri, passed away September 11, 2013. He resided in Thousand Oaks, California at the time of his passing.

Robert, a U.S Air Force Veteran. He practiced Intellectual Property Law for over 45 years. He received a Juris Doctorate Degree, B.S. in Chemical Engineering, and M.B.A., from St. Louis University Law School. Throughout his career, Robert served as a Municipal Judge in St. Louis, Missouri and was a Professor at both Missouri University and UCLA. He has held the offices of President and Secretary of various Bar Associations, and edited a number of law publications. He was also a former editor of Lawyers World Magazines.

He is survived by his three daughters, Teri Hedding-Trapp, Aimee Schaap and Jennifer Schaap, as well as three grandchildren.
