Robert J. Riley

Robert J. Riley, 64, of Rancho Mirage CA passed away on December 10, 2020. Robert (Bob) was born on June 10, 1956, in East Chicago IN to William Jr and Charlotte (Ready) Riley of Munster IN. Bob graduated from Campion Jesuit High School in Prairie du Chien WI and went on to Creighton University in Omaha NE where he graduated in 1979. Bob lived his life through service as an extraordinary waiter in the hospitality industry for almost 30 years. Separately, he lived by example through his selfless, kind and forgiving nature as he mentored others. On December 26, 2020, Bob would have celebrated his 35th anniversary of dedicated service to Alcoholics Anonymous in the Chicago IL metropolitan area and the Palm Springs CA surrounding area. Bob is survived by James (Jim) Fulk of La Quinta CA, Michael (Mike) and Louise Riley of Munster IN and Katherine (Kathy) Riley of Chicago IL. Bob is also survived by one nephew, Michael Jr, and one niece, Linda, of Munster IN. Bob was preceded in death by not only his parents William Jr and Charlotte, but also his siblings William III, Andrew, Joseph and Charles. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Cathedral City CA. A celebration of life is planned in the spring/summer 2021 (post COVID-19). In lieu of flowers, Bob's favorite charity was the Human Rights Campaign.
