Robert Oania

Robert Oania, a distinguished researcher and lab manager whose career spanned over 25 years, has sadly passed away. Born on January 23, 1976, in Bellflower, CA, Robert's life was filled with remarkable achievements and profound relationships.
Robert's academic journey was marked by excellence. He graduated from Saint John Bosco High School in 1994 and went on to earn a degree in Biology from the University of California - San Diego in 2000. His passion for science led him to work as a Researcher and Lab Manager at prestigious institutions such as the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, California Institute of Technology, and the University of Southern California. Robert's contributions to molecular sciences were recognized through several published papers.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Robert was known for his warm personality and love for his family and friends. He took great joy in spending time with his loved ones, never missing an opportunity to attend family events or act as a gracious tour guide when hosting visitors. Robert's generous soul and unwavering loyalty endeared him to countless individuals, resulting in friendships that were deep and enduring.
An avid traveler, Robert embarked on adventures around the globe. While some journeys were shared with family and friends, he often explored independently, forging connections with people from all walks of life. His ability to form lasting friendships wherever he went attested to his charismatic nature and genuine interest in others.
Robert Oania is survived by his mother Lydia Oania, father Renato Oania, sister Beverly Gloth, and brother Ronald Oania. He was preceded in death by his Aunt Elvira Morales, and grandparents Ramon Soldevilla, Teofila Soldevilla, Sergio Oania, and Paulina Oania. Although he may no longer be with us in person, Robert's spirit lives on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Services to honor and remember Robert will be held at Forest Lawn - Cypress in Cypress, CA (4471 Lincoln Ave, Cypress, CA 90630). A visitation is scheduled for March 8th from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Cypress Room, followed by a Funeral Service at the Patriots Chapel from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on the same day. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Robert's favorite charity - the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (www.lls.org or 1-800-955-4572).
