Robert "Bob" McNee, age 60 of Atkinson, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Monday, February 22, 2016 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, MA. He was born on September 6, 1955 in Somerville, MA the son of William S. and Charlotte (Heinish) McNee. He was raised and educated in Wilmington, MA and attended Wilmington High School.
Bob had worked for Testa Corp based in Lynnfield, MA as a truck driver for many years. He was a member of Local 25 Trucker's Union. As a truck driver, Bob was very proud to have taken part in the "Big Dig" in Boston, MA and in the removal of debris at "Ground Zero" following the 9/11 tragedy in New York City.
Bob always had a passion for riding motorcycles. A lover of the outdoors, he also enjoyed going camping with his family and friends. He loved spending time watching the boats enter and leave the channel at Salisbury Beach. He always took great pride in his yard. He had the best grass in the neighborhood, and no one could mow his yard the way that he could. Bob was fascinated with current events and loved watching the news to stay on top of the current stories.
Bob is survived by his mother, Charlotte M. (Heinish) McNee of No. Reading, MA. His former spouse, Christine (Bilicki) McNee of Plaistow, NH. His former mother-in-law, Margaret "Peggy" Petrucci of Atkinson, NH. His daughters; Brenda McNee of Haverhill, MA and Alivia McNee of Plaistow, NH. His sons; Duran McNeil of Tewksbury, MA and Robert "Bobby" McNee, Jr., Bobby's girlfriend, Jennifer Silva and their daughter, Skylar Amelia McNee of Hampstead, NH and his brother, David B. McNee of Wilmington, MA. He was predeceased by his father, William S. McNee and his brother, William "Billy" McNee. Several grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive him.
Family and friends are invited to attend Bob's Life Celebration on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 from 4-8 PM at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street (Rt. 121A), Plaistow, NH 03865. Funeral services will follow the Life Celebration at the funeral home at 8:15 PM. Spring burial will take place in Atkinson Cemetery.
