January 17, 1944 – January 10, 2021

Bob Lahey passed away on January 10th, 2021 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
He was born in Los Angeles, California and lived most of his life in Pasadena, California. He attended San Raphael Elementary School, McKinley Junior High School, Pasadena High School and Pasadena City College. He then went on to receive his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from UCLA and his Master of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from USC.
Bob worked for Lockheed Corporation in Burbank, California for 10 years as an aeronautical engineer testing aircraft structures, such as, the L1011 airplane and the Space Shuttle. Then, he worked for the MSC Software Corporation in Eagle Rock, California for another 17 years. At MSC, he was a Software Development Engineer and later a team manager.
Bob loved the outdoors, especially hiking, camping, boating, fishing and later golf. He loved to travel, especially driving his Recreational Vehicle to go fishing with his buddies in Alaska and to sight-see across the country with his family. He also enjoyed many adventures traveling all over the continental United States, Hawaii and Alaska with his wife and close friends. He liked working with his hands and made many improvements to his long-term residence in Pasadena.
Bob's family and many friends will miss the joy and love he brought to their lives greatly.
Bob is survived by his wife of over 43 years, Nancy (Black) Lahey, his son, David Lahey of Pasadena, California, daughter, Elizabeth Lahey, son-in-law, Matthew Gardocki, grand-daughters Lorelei and Rosalind Gardocki of Glendale California and his sister, Pamela Hagen of Sonoma County, California..
A virtual Memorial Service was held at the La Canada Presbyterian Church and a private Graveside Service conducted at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale in February.
In lieu of flowers, donations, in his name, may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
