Robert Bradley Heath passed away peacefully January 27, 2025 at the age of 58 surrounded by his loving family.
Rob, as he was known to most, was born on August 31, 1966 in Torrance, California. He attended Helen Keller elementary, DeMille Jr. High and Millikan High School, before continuing his schooling at various community colleges on his way to becoming an EMT. But more on that later.
Growing up, Rob dabbled in a great many things. He spent time doing “traditional” things, including modeling (true story) and a number of years excelling at baseball. He also gravitated toward the unconventional, including his enthusiasm for odd reptiles and especially his love of punk rock. He became part of the Long Beach punk scene, eventually learning the bass guitar and starting a (short-lived) band with his close friends. His love of music was passed down to his son Parker, who himself is an accomplished guitar player.
Rob was also a big part of the Long Beach skateboard community, spending much of his time on ramps at home and in pools at Lakewood Skatepark. But it was surfing that became Rob’s lifelong passion, taking him up and down the California coast and on surf trips to places like Isla Natividad.
Professionally, Rob spent time as an emergency room nurse at Long Beach Memorial before becoming and Emergency Medical Technician. He worked in the field for a number of years before eventually landing a job as an EMT on movie and TV sets—a job he excelled at and truly loved.
Rob is survived by his son Parker Heath and his fiancé Elizabeth, parents Brad and Peggy Heath, brother Jeff Heath, Jeff’s wife Jennifer and their son Jack, his Aunt Cindy Reddy and cousins Sean, Jen and Danielle Reddy. There will be a private service where his ashes will be scattered at his favorite place: In the ocean off the coast of Huntington Beach.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.
