Robert Chow, a distinguished aerospace engineer, passed away peacefully at his home in Los Angeles on February 19, 2026, at the age of 89. Born in Guangdong, China, Robert's life was a remarkable journey marked by his unwavering dedication to his career and family.
Robert's educational path commenced in Hong Kong, where he completed high school before continuing on to National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan. His pursuit of knowledge ultimately led him to the University of Buffalo in New York, where he obtained a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering. This strong foundation propelled him into an impressive career at prominent aerospace companies, including Lockheed Martin, Rockwell International, and Hughes Aircraft. His contributions to the field were invaluable, showcasing both his technical expertise and innovative spirit.
Throughout his life, Robert was known for his kind and considerate nature. Those who knew him admired his even-keeled demeanor and respect for others; he was someone who never lost his temper and always approached life with patience and understanding. He lived in various places across the globe, including Guandong, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Sydney, and Toronto, before settling in the United States, where he would leave a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know him.
In addition to his professional achievements, Robert had a deep-seated passion for talking about stocks and investing in the market, which reflected his analytical mind and keen interest in financial matters.
Robert is survived by his devoted wife, Frances Chow; his loving daughter, Evelyn Chow; and his caring sister, Mary Liu. His legacy will also be cherished by the memory of his parents, Benjamin YC Chow and Hui Ying Chow, alongside his siblings who have preceded him in death: Connie Wong and Henry Chow.
Robert Chow's life was an embodiment of respect, kindness, and dedication in both his personal and professional worlds. He touched the lives of many and will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege to know him.
Funeral services will be held at the Forest Lawn - Hollywood Hills - Church of the Hills in Los Angeles, California, on March 25, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM.
