Raymond, NH: Robert A. "Bobby" Chooljian, Jr. 60, a former resident of Plaistow and Kingston, died on Friday evening at Yale-New Haven Hospital in Connecticut.
Born in Haverhill, MA, son of Robert and Rosemarie (Pallaria) Chooljian, he was raised and educated in Plaistow, attending the Pollard School. He was a member of the Timberlane Regional High School Class of 1973, where he lettered in Football and Wrestling. He was named an All State Football Player and Timberlane Athletic Hall of Fame Inductee and also attended Plymouth State College.
Bobby served as a Technical Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force from 1975 until his retirement in 1995 and saw action in Operation Desert Storm. He was presently employed as a ship fitter at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.
A generous, kind and fun loving individual, Bobby enjoyed fishing and motorcycling and was devoted to his family, especially his three young grandsons. A member and former director of the Plaistow Fish and Game Club and member of Post # 90 of the American Legion of Raymond, he also enjoyed Classic Rock music and was an accomplished harmonica player.
He is survived by three daughters, Danielle R. Chooljian and her fiancé Philip Marcus of Somerville, Rachel A. Clark and her husband Wayne of Derry, and Rosie Chooljian of Epping, three grandsons, Dominic, Dylan and Madden Clark, his parents, Robert A. and Rosemarie (Pallaria) Chooljian of Plaistow, brothers and sisters-in-law, Mark and Michelle Chooljian of Hampton, and Barry W. and Carrie Chooljian of Hampstead, nephews, James and Robert Chooljian and nieces, Lauren and Cara Chooljian, his former wife Jemima (Dewing) Chapman, and many, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Life Celebration to be held on Thursday, February 26, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. His funeral will be held on Friday at 8:45 from the funeral home with a Funeral Liturgy at 10a.m. in Saint Christopher's Episcopal Church, East Road, Hampstead, NH Burial with Military Honors will follow in Plaistow Cemetery.
