Robert Paul Avery

Robert Paul Avery, 86 years old, of Toluca Lake, CA passed away on April 26, 2013 at St. Joseph's Hospital due to complications from a stroke.
He was born on July 5, 1926 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. When Bob was in his teens, the family moved to Los Angeles, California. He went to Virgil Jr. High School and graduated from Lake Elsinore Military Academy in January 1944.

Bob joined the U.S. Army in October 1944, earned a Philippine Liberation Ribbon, and was part of the delegation pertaining to the signing of Surrender in Tokyo, Japan in 1945. He continued his service until his Honorable Discharge in November 1946.He dropped out of UCLA to take the CPA exam in 1950.

He married Leslie Kenworthy, the mother of Michelle and Michael, on July 26, 1987 and together they designed and built their dream home in Toluca Lake where he resided until he suffered a stroke.

For the latter part of Bob's professional life, he managed holdings and investments as the VP of Shamrock Holdings, a Roy and Patty Disney company. Bob retired from Shamrock and assisted Leslie with her real estate brokerage and managing their financial investments.

Bob's greatest pleasures were reading all genres of literature and enjoying fine dining with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Leslie Avery and his children: Ross Avery, Bob Avery, Patricia Sandene and her husband David and their three children, Kristina, Paula, and Robert, and their seven grandchildren, Cindy Roberts, her husband Joe, and their daughter, Mikayla Mary, and Michael Kenworthy and Michelle Kenworthy Mustain, her husband Tim and their two children, Riley and Brendan.

Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles, CA.
