Rita Stuessel

Rita Zoe Stuessel, 87, of Palm Desert, CA, passed away on April 1, 2024 peacefully in her sleep.

Rita was born November 9, 1936 to William Dilma (W.D.) and Minnie Lee Lightfoot in Waco, TX. She was one of three children. 

In 1954, Rita married her beloved Len and went on to have three beautiful children, Cathy, Lenard “Kirk”, and Lamar “Kevin”.

Rita was a loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother (known as Granonnie) who enjoyed cooking, entertaining, and on occasion, played video poker at the Casino. She was known by her family to have a beautiful voice and loved singing in the Church of Christ Choir, to which she was a lifelong member. 

Rita was predeceased by her parents William Dilma (W.D.) and Minnie Lee Lightfoot, her husband Len, and her brothers William Dilma Jr. “June” and Neil Lightfoot. She is survived by her three children, Cathy, Kirk and Kevin along with five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
