Rita Grossbard was born on October 27, 1935, in Chicago, IL, She passed away February 16, 2024. She resided in Anaheim, CA and was 88 at the time of her passing.

Rita was a beloved, Wife, Mother, Sister and Friend. 

She moved to Phoenix,Arizona in 1943 with her parents and her two sisters (Miriam and Sharon). her mother Gertrude passed away in 1948 when Rita was 13. Her father later remarried to Minnie and she had Carl, Harriet and Allan.

She met her husband to be Gary Grossbard in Phoenix, later moved to San Francisco, CA, got married and started a family (Stuart,Gordon (deceased), Daryl and Eden). Rita and Gary were together for 22 years, before he passed away in 1981.

Rita was a very independent person who lived most of her life on her own terms. This was a time when, this was not usually done by women. She was the first and only Jewish woman at the time at a Catholic Nursing school in Arizona. She put Gary thru Chiropractic school while she continued working as a Registered Nurse. Gary passed away while he was paying for her Chiropractic education. She drove from Anaheim to Pasadena and back, 5 days a week, 100 miles each way to go school while looking out for her kids, while working with other Chiropractors to keep the office open.

Her view of the world showed that family was very important, whether you were born into it or not. Her great spirit, sense of humor and determination to overcome most obstacles in her way, stayed with her even in her later years.

She was a social animal, participated in community functions, loved parties, visitors. She always knew how to bring a smile to your face and would light up a room with her warmth.  

She will continued to be loved thought about and missed for many years to come...
