Richard J. Wedeen, 79, born on December 18, 1937 in Upsala, Minnesota passed away on August 4, 2017. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills, California.

Richard was born in Upsala but raised in Hollywood, California. He graduated from Hollywood High School and then served in the US Army for three years, spending time at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. After his army service he completed courses at Trade Technical College in Los Angeles to become an IBEW union electrician.

He was a, hunter, fisherman, motorcyclist and Boy Scout leader. He took up bicycling, joining the Los Angeles Wheelmen and was an avid cyclist, riding, advocating, and volunteering. After retirement he began a second career building bicycle wheels and earned a reputation as "the" wheel builder.

Most recently he took up ukulele and billiards at the Joslyn Center in Burbank, spending some time there every day. He also enjoyed having coffee and chatting at Priscilla's in Burbank daily.

Richard is loved by many and is survived by wife Nancy, son David (Julie), daughter Kimberley (Mark) and four grandsons, Tyler (David), Eric, Evan, Ian (Kimberley), and his two brothers Wally and Larry.
