Richard is one of the Greatest Generation, raised with few modern conveniences, who survived the great depression; served his nation in the Second World War; worked diligently in a factory to support his family; faithful to his wife of 69 years; raised 4 children, teaching them the value of honesty and hard work; lived frugally, residing in the same house for 62 years, paid it off early and saving up before retirement, lived carefully in retirement on Social Security and savings; enjoyed 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He is a part of each of us, and we owe him our gratitude.
