Richard James "Rick" McDonald, 66 of San Dimas, husband of 43 years to Nancy Lynn King, died Friday, May 18, 2018 in Ocotillo Wells OHV of a heart attack doing what he loved best, 4-wheeling and camping.

Richard's story starts on December 19, 1951 in Los Angeles, CA, as the second child of Mary Rita De La Torre and the late Dr. John J. McDonald. He grew up in Whittier, CA, attending elementary school at St. Bruno's Catholic School, and graduated from Monte Vista High School in 1970. There he met his future wife; he was attracted to her big blue eyes and long blond hair. He married his bride, Nancy Lynn King, in 1975. They had just celebrated their 43 wedding anniversary the day before he passed away. He is survived by his daughters, Melissa and Jeniece with her fiancé Norris; his four sisters: Diane Hayes, Patricia McDonald, Joanie and Dan Nee, Barbara and Craig Anderson, along with two brothers: Paul and Cindy, and Joseph and Hilary McDonald; 17 nephew and nieces, as well as a host of extended family and friends.

Vigil will be held on June 18th at the Church of Our Heritage located at Forest Lawn in Covina Hills, California. Celebration of life mass will be held on June 19th at Holy name of Mary Catholic Church, San Dimas, followed by graveside service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Covina Hills. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made In Memoria to the Anza-Borrego Foundation.
