Richard W. Hoag passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025, leaving behind a life filled with love, purpose, and meaningful connections. Born on February 7, 1936, in Buffalo, NY, Richard’s journey carried him across the country to Los Angeles, making long and deeply meaningful professional and personal friendships along the way. Ultimately he and his wife Anita chose to live in the Coachella Valley, a place he treasured for its beauty, warmth, and the sense of community he so deeply valued.
Richard was a man of gentle strength, not so quiet confidence, and a charismatic, joyful personality that served him well in relationships and his long and successful sales/marketing career. Richard’s professional life reflected his dedication and leadership ranging from a trainee at Sears to a multi-million dollar corporate Sr. VP and further to the establishment of his own consultancy, The Hoag Network International. Yet, it was not his titles that defined him, it was his generosity, his thoughtful counsel, the genuine care, the easy humor that he shared with everyone fortunate enough to know him. He didn’t just walk into a room he owned it.
Richard married the love of his life, Anita, in 1980. For 45 devoted years, they shared a partnership rooted in deep respect, companionship, and steadfast support. Together, they built a life rich with shared experiences, personal accomplishments, and enduring love, remaining by each other’s side through every chapter.
Survived by his beloved family, wife, Anita, son, Richard Scott Hoag, and his wife Gail, daughter, Susan Michael Bernstein, and her husband Craig, with a huge sense of pride and love for five cherished grandchildren and by all his deeply enduring friendships. Richard’s greatest legacy lies not only in what he built, but also in the people he uplifted and loved along the way
