Richard Barnett

Richard Allen Barnett, 68, of Buena Park, California, passed away on March 05, 2024, at home with his children by his side, giving him all of the love in world. He was born on November 19, 1955, in Hackensack, New Jersey. 

Rick, as he was known by his family and friends, is survived by his children, Michael (Angela) Barnett and Melissa (Christopher) Beckler, and his beloved grandchildren Kelsie, Brayden, and Drew Beckler. Rick is also survived by his brothers Robert, William, Thomas, and Russell Barnett, and his former wife Kimberly Miller. He was preceded in death by his mother Jeannie Barnett, father Robert Barnett, and brother Stephen Barnett. 

Rick will be celebrated as a great father, an awesome grandfather, a good brother, and a best friend to many.  A hard-working man all of his life, Rick worked many years in the auto parts industry, then a long time with Payless ShoeSource, then finally with SmartStop Self Storage, before he retired early to spend more time with his grandkids and his dog, Bruno. Rick was a warrior and had been battling cancer for the last 5 years, which was five times longer than what the doctors gave him. Positivity, strength and his three grandkids kept him fighting for the last 5 years.  

Rick will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
